For Teachers

I am in the process of finishing my Brief Guide to Imaginative Media Education and I am hoping to have it finalized by the beginning of August. The Guide will provide teachers with insight into the theories of Imaginative Education, which I believe, provides a wonderful framework for curriculum development in all subject areas, including media education.

  • Here is the poster I created for the AMLA conference: View PDF
  • As a means of distilling what I had been working on for the past couple of years I decided to create a Brief Guide to Imaginative Media Education. As you can see it is still in DRAFT form- with many typos and probably some strangely worded sentence; but I really wanted to provide something for teachers to look at before the year got into full swing.
One major goal of the guide is to provide teachers with an idea of how the lessons were organized and why. I am hoping teachers will ADAPT what I have done rather than ADOPT it like a kit.
  • If you have any suggestions or have used any of these lessons or created your own units I would love to hear about your own adventures.
